This experimental testbed is composed of a high speed motor coupled to a 6" rotating drum encased within a stainless steel vacuum chamber. The rig is designed such that uniform plasma can be generated on the surface of the drum. The application of the plasma has the potential to reduce the drag on the rotating drum.
